"I'm a fan of disruptors . . . "

That was then, this is now.
Certainly we shouldn't question each others partiotism.

My question is: can you have it both ways?

Can you call the war protesters unpatriotic and accuse them of "aiding and abetting the terrorists" then, and now proclaim that these are the True American Patriots?

Can we all remember that those awful hippies (and there were millions in the streets, not 50 confused Medicare recipients bussed in to a town hall) DID NOT get their way? Because, clearly if there is reform it will be painted as against the will of the American people, right.

And finally the next time we have a War of Choice, will it get the same financial scrutiny as health care reform?

Yeah, I didn't think so either....

Yeah--I see your point. There is a measure of hypocrisy from the right on this point. There is a LOT of hypocrisy in Pelosi standing on a stage welcoming the "disruptors" and her referring to the current dissenters as Nazis.

I don't know about "millions" in the streets, but I do know that there are more than 50 confused old people (that's not a nice thing to say, is it?) at these town hall meetings. And those awful hippies actually DID get their way--they helped elect Obama. You know, the guy who's going to keep us in Afghanistan AND Iraq. Patriot Act still in force. Renditions still being practiced. "Unlawful" detentions still allowed. Gitmo still open.

As far as scrutiny, are you saying that our Congressional overlords should just pass the legislation and we should just shut the f#@$ up since they know better than us?
I wonder why Congress would be exempt from participating in our newimprovedhealthplan.

Can you imagine the outcry if the Bush White House had sent out unsolicited e-mails? INVASION OF PRIVACY, OHMYGOD, ELECTRONIC SNOOPING INTO AMERICAN HOUSEHOLDS!
